Student Feedback from Joshua Bible Study
Congratulations! You are keeping your commitment to prepare yourself for God’s Ministry. The first six books of the Old Testament is a picture (type) of New Testament Salvation. The study to this point is the foundation to all key themes of the Bible, with the major one being Jesus and Him Crucified!
After each study module, we ask the student to take a little time to analyze both what they have learned and for any suggestions that they have for improvement to the course. It is our desire that we make the course the best it can be for the next student.
As was mentioned above, the study from Genesis to Joshua has laid the foundation (a picture of redemption). We will now study the gospels which show us the real (anti-type) redemption story, where Joshua completes the shadow (type) or picture of redemption, however God is unchanging therefore we need to understand the Old to interpret the New.
1. Did you gain any new understanding of God and His Word in these first three modules? If so list a few.
Everything that God allows in the life of a believer has been divinely designed.

2. List a few things that you like about how we have arranged the study.
I like the way how the study is organized on how Joshua Believed God’s Promise, how Joshua Remembered God’s Faithfulness and Obeyed God’s Orders and Experienced God’s Victory
3. Meditate upon the study so far and list any Biblical principles that we seemed to have left out or misrepresented.
None according to my knowledge.
4. Give us a few suggestions for improvement (structure and/or content).
Nothing yet.
5. Tell me a little more about yourself, your calling, your ministry goals, etc?
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Everyone has a purpose in life and everyone has a unique journey. I was born and raised in a well educated family in India and have completed my Bachelor of Electrical & Electronics Engineering Degree from NMAMIT, India and other various Certifications Courses in Computers & Networking. I had worked for I.T and Engineering companies in the past and now I am a stay Home Mother and Christian writer contributing articles.
I have self published three books using print-on-demand called "Christian Living", "Seek God's Truth" and "Living a Godly Life”. I have a passion for writing Christian articles and have contributed many articles and blogs online. I have an incredible heart to serve the Lord and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through my writings.

As I read the scriptures more and more I discovered many things about God that I didn’t know. I was born, baptized in Christ and raised into a Christian-Catholic family all of my childhood. I have also attended different churches after I got married to my husband. After marrying my husband I also got baptized in a Baptist church .My husband is from Baptist and non denominational denominations background. I am neither against any denominations nor Catholic Church; there are good people as well as bad people in every denomination. Although differences of beliefs, doctrine, interpretation, and opinion may be held and expressed among believers, they should be expressed in love and fellowship with those who may differ. Which says in 1 Cor 1:10 .I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. My brothers, some from Chloe's household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. What I mean is this: One of you says, "I follow Paul"; another, "I follow Apollos"; another, "I follow Cephas"; still another, "I follow Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul? All claiming to preach the Bible, yet wearing different names and teaching different doctrines.
Since from my childhood I wanted to know more and more about Jesus Christ and I started seeking him all the time. God gave me the light, self-control and strength I didn’t have to fall away from my faith in Christ inspite of trials and persecutions. I am a seeker of truth. I would not let go of this pursuit until I had the answer - and I was determined to see it through until that answer was absolutely clear in my mind and spirit. After marriage I have deepen my faith and my love for Christ and I am growing myself in the Lord spiritually. No denominations are perfect and no denominations can change a person.
The power of Gods Spirit dwelling in us will change us to be become more godly and to like godlier things instead of just merely “professing Christ as Lord and Savior. We need to pursue gods true doctrine by studying and meditating the scriptures instead of denominations. I never needed a sign or age to believe in Christ but He has given me many signs to confirm my faith. I have experienced the liberating enormous power of Jesus Christ in my life, his love for me, his guidance , his healings etc . . I have come to know that I belong to my faithful Savior Jesus Christ in baptism, in prayer and worship. When we die God will never ask which denominations on earth we pursued. I believed and received the gift of faith by abiding in Him and in His Word.
I am a follower of Christ and I have received the gift of righteousness and reign as a king in life by Jesus Christ and I do not belong to any denominations. I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ unto good works and I am a joint-heir with Christ. It is not I who live, but Christ lives in me (Galatians 2:20).
Every denomination has some kind of truth .There are Errors; faults which are unscriptural in almost every Church Denominations as well. Hence I said no denominations are perfect.
The greatest commandment which God has given us to love God with all our heart, mind and soul. This is the great and first commandment. A true conversion in Christ Jesus Will display the fruits of the Spirit and fruit of righteousness in their lives such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control by resisting sin and temptations.
May God richly bless you for reading my testimony and may He give your soul many graces to assist you in your faith in Christ Jesus! Amen.
Love in Christ

6. Typology is a very important concept of grasping a consistent understanding of the one story, “Jesus and Him Crucified”. Therefore, review the whole redemptive theme from Exodus to Joshua and draw a contrast with New Testament doctrine using whatever God shows you. For example:
Old Testament (Picture /shadow) -> New Testament (Real)
Egypt -> sin
Pharaoh -> Satan
other Old Testament -> New Testament
Redemption in Exodus can be defined as the deliverance from the power of an alien dominion, and enjoyment of the resulting freedom. It is the book of redemption in the OT.
1. The Lord is the author of redemption (Ex. 6:1-8). The pronoun "I" appears 18 times in these verses. In Exodus JHVH is the personal name of the God of the covenant who personally cares for his people’s welfare. He is eternally self-existent, yet present with them wherever they would go, acting on their behalf (3:12-14; 33:14-16).
2. The reason for redemption was God’s promise to the forefathers of the Israelites (2:24; 6:5; Gen. 15:12-16).
3. The motive of redemption was God’s grace and love (15:13; 20:6; 34:6, 7). The purpose of redemption was that Israel and the Egyptians might know God (6:7; 7:5; 8:10; 14:18).
4. Redemption in Exodus is achieved by miracles (4:21), which are a natural processes controlled supernaturally by God. They are described as "signs and wonders" (7:3), "great acts of judgment" (6:6; 7:4), and the "finger of God" (8:19). Each of the plagues was a direct challenge to one of the gods of Egypt.
5. The pharaoh was the villain in redemption, a picture of rebellious humanity confronted by God’s command (4:21-23). Ten times the Pharaoh hardened his own heart, and 10 times it was God who hardened it, in effecting the king’s decision to defy Him.
6. The Passover marked the purchase of redemption (12:23-27; 15:16). It was a clear example of salvation by substitution. The word for "redemption" (6:6; 15:13) means to "act as a kinsman redeemer" (Lev. 25:25-37; Ruth 3:12, 13).
7. The recipients of God’s redemption in Exodus were the Israelites. God took them as His own special people (6:7), and they were no longer free to do as they pleased (4:22, 23).
8. The demand of redemption was obedience (20:1-17; 19:8; 24:3; 32:8).
9. The faithful responded in gratitude with Moses’ "song of redemption" (15; Rev. 15:3, 4).
7. Relate Joshua 1:5-9 to a counseling situation.
It was on the basis of this great promise that Joshua had assumed the leadership role in Israel. Now, he has led them over Jordan. He has led them in obedience to the Law of the Lord. He has led them in observing the Passover. He has led them to the place where they are ready to begin their battle for the land of Canaan.
On the eve of the battle, Joshua goes out to look at the city they are about to attack: the great walled city of Jericho. Joshua is a military leader, and there can be little doubt that he is out there partially to consider the defenses of the city and to formulate a plan of attack. I personally believe that Joshua is there for other reasons as well.
Joshua is the leader of a couple of million men, women and children. Every decision he makes will affect the people under his leadership in profound ways. Some will die, others will be injured, families will be torn apart, and lives will be altered based on the decisions Joshua makes. Before those decisions are made, Joshua goes out alone, under the weight of the burden of his office, to seek counsel from the Lord
Anyone who has ever filled a position of leadership knows, to some degree, how Joshua must have felt. If you are a Pastor, the decisions you make in your life, your ministry and your preaching, affect the lives of those in your congregation. If you are a Deacon, the decisions you make can have profound affects on your congregation. As a teacher, your statements in class and your demeanor shape the hearts minds of your students. As a parent, your decisions regarding your children, what they are allowed to do, what they are not allowed to do, where they can and can’t go, all carry consequences that will follow your children for the whole of their lives.
Leadership always comes with great responsibility. There is the responsibility to seek the will of the Lord in every matter you face. There is the responsibility to make decisions that honor God above feelings. There is the responsibility to do everything with the understanding that every decision is like tossing a pebble into a pond. There are ripples from every decision you make. When a preacher fails, a ministry fails. When a father fails, a family fails. When a mother fails, her children fail. When a deacon fails, a church fails. When a Christian fails, a testimony fails.
If you have been placed in a position of leadership, take it seriously, because the Lord does! If you have a position of leadership, take it seriously, because your decisions affect all those around you. There is a sense in which we are all leaders on some level.
8. Remember, if taking course for a counseling certificate, please do counseling lesson 3. Also read the Joshua doctrine and theology lessons.
what is the counseling lesson 3?Sure I would do that.

9. Was there a question or questions that troubled you (confused wording, leading question, etc)? If so, please list questions and give a brief comment.
One of the key verses of the Book of Joshua is 1:8 “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.” The Old Testament is replete with stories of how the people “forgot” God and His Word and suffered terrible consequences. For the Christian, the Word of God is our lifeblood. If we neglect it, our lives will suffer accordingly. But if we take to heart the principle of verse 1:8, we will be complete and able to be of use in God’s kingdom (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and we will find that God’s promises in Joshua 1:8-9 will be ours as well.
Joshua is a prime example of the benefits of a worthy mentor. For years he remained close to Moses. He watched Moses as he followed God in an almost flawless manner. He learned to pray in a personal way from Moses. He learned how to obey through the example of Moses. Joshua apparently also learned from the negative example that cost Moses the joy of actually entering the Promised Land. If you are alive, you are a mentor. Someone, somewhere, is watching you. Some younger person or someone that you are influencing is seeing how you live and how you react. Someone is learning from you. Someone will follow your example. Mentoring is far more than the words that are spoken by the mentor. His or her entire life is on display.
